Camp on a working historic farm — Olympic Peninsula
There are seventeen campsites across five fields at The Glendale Farm, a 180-acre working farm in Chimacum, Washington, twenty minutes from Port Townsend. Tent ground starts at $35 a night and furnished bell tents run to $80. The tractor starts early and the cows are not decorative.
What is a farm stay?
A farm stay is an overnight on land that is genuinely being farmed — you sleep among the working fields, animals, and machinery rather than in a campground built for the purpose. At Glendale that means five tenant farms at work around you, horses turned out in the morning, and equipment moving through the lanes during the day.

Forest Edge
Quiet and dark under the firs. There is no light out here on purpose.
Gazebo
Flat and sheltered, close to the gazebo and the water.
Flower Pad
Hard standing with cut flowers on three sides of you from June.
Bell Tent
Made up and ready: bed, linen, lamp, woodstove. Standing May to October.
What’s included
Water at the standpipe, firewood at the gate, toilets, and a gate code sent the morning you arrive. No hookups. Dogs on a lead. Quiet from 10pm. TK — confirm showers, bathrooms, fire rules by season.
Animals and farm life
Sheep, goats, and horses graze 40 acres here under BellStar Farm & Forge; Uphill Farms keeps chickens, geese, and heritage turkeys. Guests can expect to see stock worked and fields cut. Come for that, not in spite of it.
How far is Chimacum from Seattle?
Chimacum is roughly two hours from Seattle by way of the Bainbridge or Kingston ferry, twenty minutes from Port Townsend, and about an hour from the Olympic National Park gateways at Hurricane Ridge. TK — confirm drive times from the farm gate.
