Lease farmland on the Olympic Peninsula
An eight-acre orchard is currently available at The Glendale Farm. We are looking for an experienced long-term leaseholder interested in bringing it back into fruit production and managing the product that comes off it.
Can I lease land at The Glendale Farm?
Yes. Glendale leases ground to working farms rather than farming all 180 acres itself. Five operations lease here now, on plots from a quarter acre to eighty. Leases are long-term by preference, because the easement protecting this land is permanent and orchards and soil take years to repay the work put into them.

Dharma Ridge Farms — ~80 acres
A certified organic wholesale agricultural distributor working eighty acres of prime peat soils — the largest operation on the farm, and the reason much of this ground stays in serious production.
BellStar Farm & Forge — 40 acres
Stewards forty acres of pastoral fields raising sheep, goats, and a few friendly horses. Offers grazing services, fibre, and farrier work.
TJ's Bees — 10 acres
Ten acres of fescue overlaid on prime fruit and nut orchards, producing pure raw organic products free of unnatural additives, plus hive collection, distribution, and pollinator services.
Uphill Farms — ¼ acre
A small poultry flock — chickens, geese, and heritage turkeys — on about a quarter acre.
Dragon Heart Flowers & Events — ¼ acre
A quarter acre of seasonal bulb flowers and annuals, providing the welcome for guests and helping plan celebrations and gatherings on the farm.
How leasing supports the conservation mission
The easement keeps this land in agriculture permanently, but only tenants keep it actually farmed. Every acre under lease is an acre in production rather than in maintenance — which is the whole argument for having protected it. How the easement came about →
