Volunteers help keep 180 permanently protected acres in working order — planting, harvest, fencing, and habitat restoration alongside the farms that lease here. No experience is needed and most jobs can be taught in ten minutes.
How do I volunteer on a farm near Seattle?
Glendale runs seasonal work days about two hours from Seattle by ferry. Sign up below and we will send the dates. TK — cadence: weekly, monthly, or by season?
What you’d be doing
- Spring — planting, bed prep, fence repair after winter.
- Summer — weeding, irrigation, hay, and event setup.
- Autumn — harvest, gleaning, orchard work, and firewood.
- Winter — pruning, infrastructure, and habitat restoration.
Time commitment
TK — minimum shift, whether drop-ins are welcome, age minimum.
What the farm provides
TK — tools, gloves, lunch, and whether camping is offered to longer-stay volunteers.
